Strategic Leaners: I am able to recognize and plan how to research a large topic without wasting time by splitting up the work among my group members efficiently.
Articulate Communicators: I am able to display my knowledge from researching quantum physics and all the subtopics in a book.
In quarter four of accelerated physics in grade 11, instead of a final quarter exam, we are assigned to work on a project. This project requires us to get into a group of 5 to 6 people. The book itself includes many topics that we need to cover. An overwhelming amount of content requires us to research by ourselves with the basics that we have learned from the past three quarters. With only a one-month time frame, the work had to be split up efficiently for everyone to work on. I decided to aim for the research and information side as I am not a very artistic person myself. I remember the first thing that I jump on to working on was the introduction. Any great book needs a good beginning, and the introduction was key. My group members first started off with a short story for me to pick up from. I remember writing never-ending paragraph after paragraph which is truly foreshadowing the endless explanation of quantum physics and how long the book is going to be. The part that I found most difficult to tackle was the application and conclusion. How will I be able to come up with an application that will utilize what is mentioned in the book by my friends? I ended up having to read through the whole book in order to do so which took days and my friends began to complain where is my progress. At last, the book came together like puzzle pieces from my group working hard together. Teamwork and communication are key to being able to finish before the deadline and cover all the rubics.
