In this poster, I explored the topic of the industrial revolution. I am assigned to research the industrial revolution with a few sources provided by the teacher and a few on the internet. This is very different from traditional learning where we have to find the information by ourselves instead of just taking notes down from what the teacher provided us with. In my group, my job is to draw the train that runs downs the middle. I choose to draw a train because it was one of the iconic machines that is created during the industrial revolution. I also researched the timeline and it includes the major events that took place during the industrial revolution in Europe. This helps us with being able to view the whole event that took place by having it all summarized on one page. Pictures and information about important people that have a part in the industrial revolution are also put in. A map is also included to show the influences of each country going through the industrial revolution. After extensive research and understanding of the industrial revolution, we wrote down the cause and impact of the industrial revolution. We also extended to the impact part and included the crimes that happened during the industrial revolution and how some of the biggest criminals emerge during this period. With this poster we also made a product, the product that we chose is a gramophone. The gramophone is a product that is invented during the industrial revolution, it plays recorded audio that is recorded on a disc.

Scramble for Africa : Namibia

In this animation, I researched the country Namibia for the scramble for Africa project. The goal of the project is to under what is the scramble for Africa by understanding it through one of the countries in Africa. The project let us choose what will the final product be and we went with doing an animation about what happened in Namibia. The teacher gave us a brief explanation of a rough timeline of events that took place in Namibia including a few important people on us to base our research. My job is to write the storyboard for the animation to follow. To complete the storyboard, I also need to do research and understand deeper into the history of Namibia. The animation is planned further to be original by making it interactive. While watching the video, the video will pause and ask questions related to the previous topic or help recap the important things that the viewer should remember from the video. When the question is presented, a choice with the answers to the questions will appear and the viewer are able to answer the questions. If the viewer answers the question correctly, the animation will congrats the viewer and move on. However, if the viewer answers the question incorrectly, the animation will then quickly recap why the answer is incorrect. Unfortunately, the video included on this website does not have the interactive questions included as it is uploaded to youtube. On an international day, the day that we present our project to the judge, our display was looking very empty so we included a little display displaying the timeline and important people mentioned in the animation. A quick summary of the animation video is Tai and I started discussing what happened in Namibia. The camera pans over the map of Namibia which would transition to an animated world to be able to illustrate the story. The story is about how the Germans came over and colonized the land. Later on because of multiple factors, the natives are able to fight back for the land.
